Nicole and Jodee always put on a stellar performance… they have a great repertoire that draws the fans into their music. You can hear a pin drop on some songs.

About

Nicole Hand and Jodee Richardson are established professional Newfoundland artists who work together as a composing/arranging/performing duo, both on their own and as part of larger projects.

As Jodee + Nicole their sound is a blend of their individual strengths, drawing from acoustic guitar, saxophone, bassoon, piano and vocals. They have played to large theatres and intimate rooms with their set of well-known tunes of all genres, featuring original songs, favourite covers, stories and recitations inspired by Newfoundland and Labrador culture and experiences.

Their most beloved project is their annual tour of the province in September when they perform in remote communities and discover new audiences and friends, from St. Lewis in Labrador to Long Island in Green Bay.

Aside from their independent careers, Jodee and Nicole have shared the stage over the years with collaborations between the Pathological Lovers/Fur Packed Action and Ouroboros as recently as June 2023. The two also overlap in the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, where Nicole plays bassoon and Jodee is a frequent featured artist, and Perchance Theatre, where they work on the creative design and performance teams throughout the summer season. Their newest project, nine-member original band Hit Piece, debuted at the Writers at Wood Point Festival in August 2024.

Both originally from Conception Bay South, Jodee and Nicole reside in St. John’s with their dog, Nan.

More

They play everything from classical to rock to found instruments and all points in between. Further, they are pushing the boundaries of all these traditional forms into something new that exists between them and the stories of our province.

Danielle Irvine, Director/Producer/Artistic Director, Perchance Theatre

Great fun, loved every note and sound of it.
